Guyana Jungle Canopy Adventure
Featuring: This seven day trip will take you to Georgetown, Guyana’s capital, to the villages of the indigenous Amerind people; to jungle canopies of the Amazon rain forest, coastal estuary and Savannahs.
You will be met on arrival and transferred to the Le Meridien Hotel.
This morning you will be met at your hotel for a full day tour to the spectacular Kaieteur falls, At 741 feet these Falls are the highest sheer drop waterfall in the world. Picnic lunch at the Falls and a city tour of historic Georgetown this afternoon. Overnight Georgetown.
Iwokrama Rainforest Reserve
Today enjoya a scenic flight to Iwokrama Rainforest reserve. On arrival you will be met for your tour of this pristine jungle canopy to include a visit to the Cock-of-the-rock trail, and the Canopy Walkway. The journey continues to Field Station. You will have a private guided tour of the explore the Screaming Piha Trail with an Iwokrama Park Ranger. Tonight you will overnight in cabins made from local troolie leaves and forest woods.
Iwokrama Amerind Villages
Today you will tour the region by boat, to visit Indian House Island and Amerindian village of Fair View. Depending on the water level see the petroglyphs. Overnight at the Field Station.
Fly to Georgetown
Return flight to Georgetown. Overnight at the Le Meridien.
Full day excursion to the Amerindian reservation of Santa Mission. This trip takes you over land and by waterway along the Demerara River. See the colorful crafts of the Amerinds and learn about their lifestyle. Afternoon return and transfer to the hotel for overnight.
Morning vist to Fort Island, the Old Dutch Fort and see where the history of Guyana began. Return to airport for departing flight.
