Itinerary Highlights:

DAY 1- Kathmandu
Arrive in Kathmandu where you will be met by a local representative and transferred by private car to a deluxe hotel. Depending on arrival time, you will have an opportunity to wander the ancient narrow streets of Kathmandu.

DAY 2-Kathmandu
Kathmandu, the capital and largest city in Nepal, lies at an elevation of 4,500 feet in a fertile valley in the Himalayas. Many places of interest include the Hanuman Dhoka, which with its old temples and royal palaces epitomizes the cultural and religious life of the people. Other famous sites include the Temple of Living Goddess and Pashupathinath.

DAY 3-Kathmandu
Tour the city, the Royal Palace, and the Machendranath. In the afternoon enjoy an excursion to Patan, Bhadgaon and Pashupathinath. Patan, the city of art and artists, is called such because craftsmen and metal workers built the ancient city with fine bronze gateways and wonderfully carved Buddhist and Hindu monuments. Bhadgaon, the city of devotees, is famous for its Golden Gate, Palace of 55 Windows and Pashupathinath Temple which has many erotic carvings.

DAY 4-River Rafting
This morning you will drive to the drop off point outside Kathmandu. You will meet your river guide and begin rafting down on the Trishuli River. You will spend the day within the canyon watching exotic birds and photographing the exquisite scenery. You will also visit local villages. Later you will arrive at a camp site and stay overnight.

DAY 5-River rafting
After breakfast, continue down river through the enchanting Nepalese countryside to Devghat, a community with meditation schools and lush gardens. Camp on one of the islands below Narayanghat.

DAY 6-Tiger Tops
Raft down to Royal Chitwan Park and the world famous Tiger Tops Jungle Lodge. Wildlife native to the region include the one-horned rhinoceros, spotted deer, hog and samber deer, leopards and the ever elusive Royal Bengal Tigers.

DAY 7-Tiger Tops
A trained naturalist escorts you to the elephant camp, where you “board” an elephant for a jungle safari into the tall grasslands and forests of Chitwan Valley. Search for Bengal Tigers, Gharial (rare crocodiles), Sloth bear, monkeys and 350 species of birds. Return via boat and land rover for lunch at the lodge. Enjoy an afternoon nature walk and canoe ride at your leisure.

DAY 8-Chitwan to Pokhra
Drive to Pokhra, where you begin your 3 hour trek in the foothills of the Annapurna Range. View the magnificent Annapurnas, including Machapuchare (22,491 ft.). Enroute you pass through friendly Gurung and Gurkha villages and have an opportunity to experience life in the Nepalese hill country. Tonight you stay at a skyline camp.

DAY 9-Trekking
Begin a pleasant walk and follow the ridge eastward through absolutely breathtaking scenery into scattered villages and farming countryside up to the Gurung village at Syaglung.

DAY 10-Trekking
After sunrise over the Himalayas, trek downhill until you reach Chisopani ridge for lunch. A two hour walk will take you to a beautiful camp site.

DAY 11-Pokhra
Trek down to Bengas Lake for lunch. Afterwards trek for two hours to a road head and drive to Pokhra. This afternoon take the opportunity to wander the pleasant streets of Pokhra with sweeping views of the Himalayas.

DAY 12-Pokhra to Kathmandu
