Itinerary Highlights:

DAY 1-USA/Bangkok
Depart USA for transatlantic flight to Bangkok.

DAY 2
Enroute

DAY 3-Bangkok
Arrive in Bangkok where you transfer to your hotel.

DAY 4-Bangkok/Vientiane
Fly to Vientiane situated on the Mekong River which forms much of the border between Thailand and landlocked Laos.

DAY 5-Vientiane/Luang Prabang
Breakfast at the hotel, then take a 40 minute flight to Luang Prabang, the ancient capital and home of the former royal family. In the afternoon your sightseeing tour includes the most important sights of the city, such as Wat Phousy temple located on a hill overlooking the city. Also visit the lively markets with fascinating arrays of silk goods and handicrafts.

DAY 6-Luang Prabang
Depart on a boat trip this morning along the Mekong River to visit the sacred caves of Pak Ou. Drive through scenic rural landscapes to visit a handicraft village on the return journey to Luang Prabang.

DAY 7-Luang Prabang/Vientiane
Today you visit a museum (the former King’s palace) and then proceed to a local market for some shopping. After lunch transfer to the airport for your return flight to Vientiane. The rest of the afternoon is free.

DAY 8-Vientiane/Hanoi
This day corresponds with Day 4 of the Sample Vietnam Tour. Fly to Hanoi via Vietnam Airlines. Transfer to your hotel.
