Belize: Ambergris Caye Resorts
This is one of Belize’s newest resorts. With Mediterranean-style architecture, 34 spacious air-conditioned rooms set on a white sand beach amid tropical landscaping, the Sunbreeze is an excellent mid-priced resort located next to Ramon’s offering easy access to all downtown activities.
A long time favorite with travelers to San Pedro, Ramon’s is a polynesian style resort on a beachfront setting just south of town. All cabanas are constructed of local materials with thatched roofs and hand-rubbed mahogany floors. A fresh water swimming pool, an in house dive shop and the famous Purple Parrot Bar make Ramon’s a perfect choice.
A full service resort five miles north of San Perdro by water, Journey’s End has beachfront cabanas, garden villas, and lagoon rooms. The resort provides free water taxi to and from town and is a good chioce for people seeking a more remote and private location.
Two miles south of town lies the exquisite Victoria House. A Bermuda style plantation, the Victoria is the epitome of elegance and old world Carribean charm. A fabulous restaurant, beach bar and in house dive shop make the Victoria House an excellent choice.
Coral Beach Hotel
Located on the main street of San Pedro a few steps from the sea, the 20-room Coral Beach Hotel is a good choice for budget minded travelers seeking simple yet comfortable accommodations in the center of local action. The legendary Tackle Box Bar is here as well as an excellent dive shop.
