The local villagers are expert wood carvers, and the Gizo Islands offer some of the most diverse diving in the world. Wreck dives include the almost fully intact Japanese transport ship, which still houses a completely intact motorbike, as well as smaller trinkets, such as saki bottles.

More than wrecks, Gizo also offers numerous offshore reefs, spectacular coral formations, and plummeting walls and an abundant marine life. Sharks, trevally and batfish can be found in the waters where the coceanic currents meet on the Northwestern tips of the Gizo Islands, and nearby large soft corals and fans adorn the walls.

Gizo Explorer Hotel

Situated on the waterfront, the Gizo Explorer Hotel offers comfort and proximity to the best sites in town. Fresh local cuisine is served in the open air restaurant, with daily entertainment. Rooms include a balcony, ceiling fan, and ITT telephone, refrigerator and coffee & tea.
