Morovo Lagoon, has been nominated a world heritage site. On one side of the 45 mile long lagoon, is a tropical barrier reef, and on the other side are 2 mountainous islands. In contrast, at Uepi Point steep walls are covered with colorful, spiky soft corals and gorgonian fans. At the drop off the procession of pelagics include schooling barracuda and sharks. Two bodies of water from Charapoana Passage and The Slot meet at this point to become a lively hunting and feeding ground. Garden eels, gobies and a diverse collection of invertebrate life inhabit the sand patches of the shallow waters.
