Thailand: Chiang Mai Lodging

> Asia > Thailand

Features: Chiang Mai has recently become one of the leading tourist destinations of Asia. Known as the “”Rose of the North,”" Chiang Mai is a land of a million rice fields bordered by the Mekong River and the mountains of Burma and walled off by jungles from the central plains.

While Chiang Mai has lost its small town image in recent years, its innate charm remains unchanged. Visitors can wander safely through the streets of the walled city and visit temples and their tree lined compounds, some dating back to the 14th century.

The Night Bazaar is famous for its extensive array of handicrafts and textiles at bargain prices. Many visitors take a tour to Sankampaeng to visit handicraft factories and souvenir shops, the zoo, butterfly and orchid farms, waterfalls and gardens. Another intriguing possibility is an elephant safari originating from Chiang Mai.

Lai-Thai Guest House
