Features: Vanuatu is famous for the wreck of the President Coolidge off Espiritu Santo
This once luxury liner converted WWII ship hit a land mine in 1942 in the east entrance of Segond Channel at Espritu Santo and sank. Nearly all 5000 military personnel on board lives were saved before it fell on its port side and sank.
This well-preserved massive shipwreck is accessible by land or boat as it sits approximately 75 yds. off shore and offers 16 different dives. With a low diver to dive guide ratio, you will enjoy penetrating various chambers of the wreck safely with personalized attention. It is a rare experience as it offers the decor of a luxury liner with the military hardware.
Additional diving off Santo and Port Vila offers plush hard coral gardens. With stag horn coral as far as the eye can see in crystal clear waters, you will cruise the reefs and experience a rich variety of fish and turtles. Port Vila can surprise you with some big game fish as many fishermen come there to chase world records. February and March are part the cyclone season, however, this is the time of year to expect numerous encounters with Mynke Whales.
